Poetry Idol has attracted large crowds at the heats and the 2009 final held at the prestigious BMW Edge Federation Square was watched by a full house of almost 400 people.

Michael Crane is a performer with 20 year’s experience and has had more than 350 poems and stories published in magazines and newspapers since 1994. Michael has released 4 books of poems that have received National acclaim and in 2008 he completed a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT. “Bleak, funny, moody, like a modern-day Chaplin, Michael Crane shows us the flickeringframes of his and our lives in the pervasive dystopia of Melbourne" — David Gilbey Professor of Literature at Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga. Trish Anderson has been a performer around Australia for over 20 years writing,recording, touring and performing with band ‘Git’ for 7 years and ‘Mrs Wainwright’ for 6 years. In 1997 Trish completed a Degree with Honors in Art majoring in Music. Her latest album with band ‘Mrs Wainwright’ was ‘Clickity Clack’ released by Croxton Records in 2007. “Clickity Clack beats with a rock’n’roll heart.
